Christmas is Cancelled

The plot is plain and simple at a glance. But as it progresses it takes a few unexpected turns revealing a mystery. As for the characters, Dean is a handsome man with sense of honour and a caring heart. Matilda, is a strong and spirited woman who has had to deal with her share of ups and downs. Another character that you will not help but notice is Tilly’s brother Phil. There is something about him that made me want to get to know him better. But it is the dynamic of Dean and Tilly’s relationship that carries the book through. Totally in love with each other yet not being able to put it out on the table has them blowing hot-and-cold against each other.
This romance with a hint of mystery in it, but the author has maintained the plot as a romance novel should – focusing on the elements of the relationship of the protagonist. Her style of writing is fluid and easygoing. I am one of those people who always likes to know more and in this case since the author has provided just enough details for this story, but I wish I could know a bit more about both Dean, Tilly and certainly a lot more about Phil. But I am guessing that there’s going to be a different book about Phil (atleast I certainly am hoping for it) and I have to wait and watch out for it.
Overall, it was a fast, light and enjoyable read that I finished in one sitting.
